The average college student loan is now about $40,000 by graduation (including parents' loans) which has nearly doubled in the past ten year. This debt grows to over $55,000 for those with gradute or professional degrees (this does not include parent loans).
Time to rethink student loans? Some practical advise. If there are few well paying jobs in your area of interest, don't borrow the money to go to college. If there are lots of high paying jobs in your area of interest, by all means go to college and borrow the money if necessary.
